Massage Therapy
Relaxation massage is a form of treatment that focuses on providing general relaxation, relieving muscular tension, improving blood circulation and aiding in the improvement of sleep. Our primary goal is to assist the client in escaping the demands and stresses of everyday life.
Remedial Massage is the application of a range of specialised techniques, used to treat muscles that are restricted, excessively tight or damaged. We use systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body, to assist in pain, injury and rehabilitation.
Trigger Point Therapy is a process where we utilise pressure in a very specific and targeted way to treat hyper sensitive spots (Trigger Points) within tight muscular tissue or surrounding fascia. Trigger Points can be either active or latent. Active Trigger Points have a referred pain pattern and can be painful to touch. Latent Trigger Points are not painful but can cause restriction of movement or weakness within the muscle. We use Trigger Point Therapy as a highly effective technique utilised within our Remedial Massage sessions when needed.
Pregnancy massage is beneficial throughout the entire nine months of the pregnancy. At Northlakes Massage we have a number of mums who have had treatments throughout their pregnancy right up to days before the birth. Whether you need to take some stress off or get rid of those nasty lingering aches and pains we can assist.

Hot Stone Massage can increase local circulation, improve blood flow to surrounding tissues, improve the bodies ability to transport toxins and waste products from the area. Another benefit is that the massage stones provide a wonderful tool that create a sense of depth in the massage without the extra pressure needing to be applied. A really great way to relax, unwind and release extra built up tension. We can practice this therapy for general relaxation or even utilise these tools as a fusion with Remedial techniques.
